IN-DEPTH: Link to wiki! Aya is a runaway princess from the Emirate of Fayel - she left behind her family in order to follow Sigmund the Liberator and help him destroy the chains that bind the Moon to the Earth. Shortly after joining him, she and the others in the Force were defeated soundly by the Dreadknight. Nursing their wounds, they escaped, until Sigmund was apparently captured. Little did Aya know as she broke into the Prison that it wasn't Sigmund who was captured, but another man who looked virtually his double, Capell. And thus began the tale of Capell the Soother, and Aya, the girl who enthusiastically dragged him along. PERSONALITY Aya is always the first person to volunteer to help, to make sure someone is okay. Even if that someone is Capell. When Sapran is under attack, she's the first person to want to know what happened, and what they need to do. And the same goes when they encounter the Sapran refugees who need to be helped back to their home. These people are Unblessed, people traditionally exiled or killed because they were born under a full moon and never received the blessing of the God of the Moon. But Aya? Doesn't hold that against them, is not prejudiced against them the way most people are, including her father, Emir of the Kingdom these people live in. Sshe's very empathetic to all people who are experiencing hardships, whether they're from her own country of Fayel or not. She is filled with compassion and feeling, and it's something that's part of her that she doesn't want to lose. She tries to hide her feelings sometimes but isn't always that successful at it. But because she's so eager to help, sometimes she comes across as very strong-willed, bordering on bossy. Eagerness overwhelms politeness, verbally and physically, whether that ends up with Aya demanding something of an explanation before she catches herself, or her jumping to embrace someone out of relief. The person who tends to get a lot of her bossy side is Capell, of course. She is constantly pushing him, berating him for being lazy and contrary, but that's only because she feels like he has more than that under the surface. She sees good in people - and she sees the good in Capell. She also tends to butt heads with Edward over the same feeling - both want to take charge of some things after Sigmund's passing and it's only natural that they wouldn't see eye to eye. Of course, she is a princess. it's no wonder that she's used to getting her own way a lot of the time. Which means she can be more than a little... rebellious at times. Though it's more correct to call it determined. When Aya sets her mind to something it takes a lot to push her out of that mindset. She rebelled against her father, determined to do something for the world by joining Sigmund in the first place. But that nature didn't start there - she used to sneak out often as a child, which is when she met her lifelong friend and companion, Gustav the bear. Her parents could do so little about it that they had both a maid and a guard assigned to her in order to keep their daughter safe. QUIRK IN-DEPTH: See abilities for more info! ABILITIES WEAPON: Bow and Arrow STYLE: Physical/magic Aya is an adept archer, with a variety of archery skills in canon. She also had what's called a lunaglyph that in canon allowed her to cast basic magic spells as well as conjure fire. As of her canon point, she's no longer able to access magic and her lunaglyph no longer appears on her hand. Her essence grants her access to two magical items - a bearskin and a wheelbarrow. The bearskin allows her to change into a bear, and the wheelbarrow grants her an expedient method of transportation. |
